Duties and Responsibilities: Architects draw and design buildings and other structures such as commercial developments (shopping centers, malls and office buildings) private residences, and factories. Architects will take these facility plans and send them out to construction teams to bid on, and then manage those construction crews for the duration of the project. They must be familiar with building materials, zoning codes and building codes, safety and construction procedures, and other policies and procedures related to the agency developers.

Common Tasks of an Architect:
Drafting of subdivision layouts
Working closely with building owners and operators
Filling operational needs of residents or owners
Providing network needs (structured cabling and other interfaces)
Coordinating with mechanical, electrical and perhaps IT consultants
Coordinating with City officials
Including Green alternatives such as solar panel renewable resources, and other efficiencies
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills
AutoCAD
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work with project consultants and clients
A thorough understanding of building codes, construction documents preparation, bidding, and construction administration
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture
