Duties and Responsibilities: Astronomers typically are involved in research and apply mathematical principles to observations and interpretations of celestial and astronomical phenomena to gain understanding in physics, astrophysics, supernova studies, exo-planet studies, radio astronomy, galaxy evolution, intergalactic mediums, atmospheric science and chemistry, gravity, planetary systems and relationships, intra-cluster stars, cosmology and more. With more understanding and knowledge astronomers are able to increase our information base and apply it to solve other problems.
