Duties and Responsibilities: Dentists act as oral health advocates and clean, treat and often times perform surgery on the teeth and gums. Dentists can work on a wide range of mammels as well as humans. Dentistry is a vital profession serving people and animals to prevent disease, repair deformations, and maintain good general health. Typical work included teeth cleaning, removing tooth decay, filling cavities, placing and examining xrays of the jaw, teeth and roots, root canals, applying bridges, whitening, removing molars.

Dentists are most commonly found practicing for themselves or as a small group and supported by a small staff of dental assistants, dental hygienists, lab technicians, and receptionists.
